At Big Cove YMCA Camp, we have always been proud of the quality of our staff. Our staff are not only leaders, but friends, teachers and role models to all of our campers. Camp staff members are a dedicated group of responsible young adults carefully selected for their:

  • Character
  • Maturity
  • Skills
  • Sincere interest in the growth and development of youth

All of our staff participate in an intensive week-long training program prior to the summer, and are required to have First Aid and CPR training, as well as Lifesaving certificates. In addition, many staff members have their Wilderness First Aid certifications.

Our staff team is comprised of 50 people, made up of a combination of recent high school graduates, as well as university, college and high school students.

 Many of our staff have years of camping experience and are graduates of our Big Cove YMCA  Camp Leadership Development Program.
