For a Dynamic, Full Body Work Out — Just Add Water!
YMCA warm water Aqua Fit is a low impact class using exercises recommended to soothe painful joints and improve mobility. This warm water class uses full body exercises to promote muscle strength and endurance as well as joint flexibility and overall balance. This class is appropriate for participants living with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis or any condition that limits mobility. Classes are led by certified YMCA instructors. The Arthritis Society recommends warm water therapy for improving joint health and to help relieve arthritis pain and stiffness.
What to Expect Each class is made up of four parts which focus on improving your strength, endurance and joint flexibility:
- Warm up
- Full body exercises
- Muscular strength and conditioning
- Stretching and relaxation
All Warm Water Aqua Fit participants also have access to Restorative Pool Program from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
