The holiday season looks different this year. With travel and gathering protocols in place to protect the health of our community, many are unable to celebrate and spend time with loved ones the way we’re used to. One thing that remains the same is that your YMCA is here for you. On December 23rd, 2020, we are hosting our 3rd Annual Community Dinner at the Community YMCA. Beginning at 4:00 p.m. members of the North End community will be able to pick up a take-away holiday meal prepared by YMCA staff and volunteers. Also included will be a small gift box donated by the Monday to Friday “Picklers” group. Meals will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
Thank you to our community partners, Hope Blooms who donated use of their community kitchen space and Loblaws who donated turkeys and other ingredients, for making it possible to provide some holiday cheer to over 100 people in our community who might not otherwise get to share in this timeless tradition.
At the YMCA, we understand that building healthy communities means fostering a sense of connection and belonging for everyone in our community. Throughout these unpredictable times, the YMCA continues to provide inclusive and supportive programs that bring us together, virtually and otherwise, in a time we need it most.
“When community comes together to support one another, it’s a win for everyone involved. We are stronger by working together!”
